This was a battle between the two best teams in the league, tied at top of the standings with 67 points each after 42 games. It was a well played, fast, exciting, and entertaining game, with few penalties from two very disciplined teams. Nepean scored early in the third to take a 3-2 lead and held on the rest of the way, adding a goal into the empty net in the dying seconds of the game.
